Job vacancy - full-time Strategic Purchaser

What will you do?
You will be part of a small and close purchasing team consisting of a team leader, an operational buyer, and another tactical buyer. Within this team, you will be responsible for your own suppliers and purchasing categories. You will take a forward-looking approach, make well-informed decisions, and ensure that we can rely on the right suppliers and best commercial agreements in the long term.

Your tasks include:
· Sourcing and Supplier Management: You select and evaluate suppliers and build strong working relationships with them. You also negotiate prices, quality standards, lead times, and terms and conditions.
· Contracts and Agreements: You negotiate commercial agreements, document them, and monitor compliance.
· Quality and Continuity: You monitor supplier performance, identify risks, and explore alternative suppliers where necessary.
· Cost Management and Improvements: You analyze purchasing data and market developments and translate your findings into tangible cost savings and improvement projects.
· Collaboration with R&D: When developing new products, prototypes, and modifications, you contribute ideas on manufacturability, costs, and supplier selection.
· Forward Planning: You align future requirements with supplier capacity and ensure that reliable purchasing information is maintained in the ERP system.
· Problem Solving: You address recurring purchasing issues at their root and support the operational buyer with complex issues and escalations.

You will have the freedom to take initiative independently, implement improvements, and negotiate commercial agreements within the applicable guidelines.

Additionally, you bring the following:
· A bachelor's degree or equivalent level of professional and intellectual ability, preferably in a technical or commercial field.
· NEVI 1 is an advantage.
· 3–5 years of experience in a comparable tactical purchasing role.
· Experience with purchasing processes, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.
· An affinity for technology and manufacturing.
· Proficiency in both Dutch and English.
· Experience with ERP systems and Excel.

You are cost-conscious, proactive, and results-driven. You take ownership of your suppliers and purchasing categories, identify opportunities for improvement, and turn them into concrete actions. At the same time, you keep an eye on day-to-day operations and know when to act independently and when consultation is needed.
