  • DYNAMIC MODE // PRESS 2X - In the dynamic mode the valve partially opens 25%. This balanced setting offers a richer, more engaging exhaust note than the standard system while maintaining everyday comfort. The ideal combination of refinement and excitement.
  • MR. HYDE MODE // PRESS 1X - When conditions allow, activate the Mr. Hyde Mode to open the valve 50%. A bit of history

Every success starts out small. Even though Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde is now an established brand within the motorcycle world, it was only a little more than 25 years ago that Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde was merely an idea.

Back in 1997 when the first Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde systems were created the word ‘custom-made’ was the most appropriate term to describe the products. It did not matter which bike you rode, if it was a big cruiser or a racing rocket, an exhaust would be built especially for your bike. Because of the success of these exhaust systems and a good nose for business Jacques van de Kerkhof decided he wanted to invest in The Jekill and Hyde Company, under the condition that it would be professionalized.

From custom to legal

The next step for The Jekill and Hyde Company was to build an exhaust that would be 100% legal and in compliance with European law. The engineers kept working hard on this, but never got to this point, until Jacques met Mario Müller. Mario already had a lot of experience as an engineer in the motorcycle industry. This cooperation finally resulted in the creation of an exhaust system that was 100% legal and in 2010 the European Type Approval was finally obtained. With still only 4 employees working for the company it was time to conquer the European market. The system proved to be successful, especially in countries where the law was strictly enforced regarding illegal exhaust systems, a Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde system was the ideal solution for all those who wanted to experience the ultimate riding feeling, without being afraid to end up on the wrong side of the law.

Branching out

After Europe the step was taken to also provide the rest of the world with Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde | The Exhaust. After offices were set up in Germany, Switzerland and France, the company branched out in Canada, Singapore, Japan and more. Besides exploring new markets, the palette of brands The Jekill and Hyde Company develops exhaust systems for, keeps growing. Where there was first a focus on large big twin bikes like Harley-Davidson, Indian and Victory, it also became clear that more brands could use an upgrade with the Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde sound. First the R-series of BMW got added to the roster and subsequently it became possible to equip your KTM with a Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde | The Exhaust.

The future

The Jekill and Hyde Company continues to grow and expand. For example, in 2021 a completely new motorcycle was added to the range with the BMW R18 and with Triumph Motorcycles a completely new brand has become part of the family. The Jekill and Hyde Company  started with a few models, but are already expanding the range. In this way, the company is always looking for new models and new markets.

A lot has happened in the short time from an idea to a well-known brand and a lot has changed, yet the main principle has always stayed the same. The Jekill and Hyde Company still produces exhaust systems with three distinct personalities and keeps giving the motorcycle rider the ultimate riding experience.

Prefer a pure, technical look? No problem. Our exhaust is finished to the highest level of detail, allowing you to choose a system without an exhaust tip as well. Want the exhaust to perfectly complement the appearance of your Porsche? Choose either the black or chrome Porsche exhaust tip. When ordered together with your exhaust system, the tip will be supplied with the system. This allows you to choose the finish that best suits your Porsche.

New Challenges & InsightsResearch & Development

The development of this exhaust system did not begin by modifying an existing concept. Our Research & Development department invested considerable time in research, development, and extensive testing to create a system that fully complements the unique character of the Porsche 911 G-model.

Throughout this process, our engineers gained new technical insights into acoustics, valve control, and the specific characteristics of the air-cooled flat-six. Every aspect — from valve positioning and control to resonance, backpressure, and the overall sound experience — was thoroughly researched and refined.

This intensive development process resulted in something that had never existed before: the first fully road-legal, electronically adjustable exhaust system for the Porsche 911 G-model.

A system that not only provides greater control over the sound but also complies with European type-approval requirements while respecting the authentic character of the 911.

The result is more than a new exhaust system. It is the culmination of years of experience, technical curiosity, and the ambition to develop something that was previously impossible.

HOW IT WORKS

The Exhaust consists of several (electronic) parts that all contribute to the ultimate driving experience.

1. MODESWITCH
Push it to control your exhaust system and choose your sound mode. Conveniently located next to your steering wheel.

2. SMARTBOX
Software unit that controls the servomotor.

3. SERVOMOTOR
Will react to the signal of the Smartbox and position the valve in the required mode.

4. THE VALVE
Reacting to the servomotor our patented valve system will be positioned in the required mode.

5. SERVICE DONGLE
Enables full valve adjustment during servicing. Without the dongle, valve adjustment is limited to 50%. Use outside authorized service centers may not comply with ECE regulations.

about Porsche 911 G-Model

The Porsche 911 G-model represents the second generation of the legendary air-cooled 911 sports car, produced between 1975 and 1989. It introduced important safety and design changes that helped establish the unmistakable 911 silhouette and cemented the model’s status as a global icon of enduring sports-car engineering.

The Porsche 911 G-model marked a new chapter in the history of the 911 from 1974 onward. We developed our exhaust system for the naturally aspirated models produced from 1975 through 1989, equipped with air-cooled flat-six engines ranging from 2.7 to 3.2 liters.

From the early 2.7 models to the 911 SC and Carrera 3.2, every evolution built upon the same unmistakable character. A generation that helped shape the identity of the 911 — and remains one of the most beloved in Porsche history to this day.
