Law enforcement on motorcycle sound is getting stricter in Europe

Throughout Europe the same law applies regarding the sound level of motorcycles. But the way the law is enforced is different in almost every country. For example in Germany and Switzerland there is a very strict police control, which results in big fines. In some cases riders even had their papers taken away for not having a European approved exhaust mounted on their motorcycles. Of course these countries are known to be the strictest regarding the enforcement of these laws for bikers, until now…

Next in line… Denmark

More and more countries are getting more strict on sound legislation. The latest country to enforce the laws more strictly is Denmark. Until 2019 in Denmark the fine for excessive noise was DKK 1.000 (Euro 133,-). From January 1 2020 the Danish government raised these fines to 2.500 DKK (Euro 335,-) for the first time you are stopped by the police. This rises up to DKK 17.500 if you are fined several times (Euro 2.341,-)! It is beyond dispute that this is a total waste of money…
