In the following text, The Jekill and Hyde Company is referred to as J&H.
Every J&H exhaust system is covered by a 4-year full factory warranty on mechanical and electrical parts and a 2-year warranty on aesthetic parts.
The extended warranty period covers 1 year on mechanical and electrical parts and 3 years on aesthetic parts and applies to all J&H exhaust systems sold and registered after June 1, 2025, at a licensed J&H dealership. When the extended warranty is purchased, the entire exhaust system is covered for a total of 5 years, with mechanical and electrical parts covered for 5 years in total (4 years factory + 1 year extension) and aesthetic parts for 5 years in total (2 years factory + 3 years extension).
Validity of the Extended Warranty
The extended warranty becomes valid after the factory warranty period ends. It includes:
- 1 additional year for mechanical and electrical parts.
- 3 additional years for aesthetic parts.
The extended warranty starts immediately after the standard warranty period expires, (date of purchase of the J&H exhaust system) (i.e., after 4 years for mechanical/electrical parts, and after 2 years for aesthetic parts), and remains valid for 1 or 3 years respectively.
Transferability of the Extended Warranty
The extended warranty is specific to the exhaust system and the motorcycle it is installed on.
It is transferable to a new owner, provided that the exhaust system remains mounted on the original motorcycle and is sold as a complete unit. If the exhaust is removed or sold separately, the extended warranty becomes void.
Extended Warranty – Included Parts
For all J&H products, the extended warranty terms and conditions apply as outlined in the document “The Jekill and Hyde Company Extended Warranty Terms.”
The extended warranty applies to and is limited to the following components:
Exhaust Body Extended Warranty
- 3 years of extended warranty on aesthetic parts.
Electronics Extended Warranty
- 1 year of extended warranty on electronic components, including:
- Smartbox control unit.
- Blackbox control unit.
- Servo motors.
- Electrical wiring.
- Control switch.
Mechanical Extended Warranty
- 1 year of extended warranty on mechanical parts, including:
- Stainless steel exhaust body.
- Damping elements.
- Header set.
- End caps.
- Adjuster cables.
J&H Extended Warranty Terms
1. Terms
- Owners of a J&H exhaust system can purchase:
- 1 additional year of warranty on mechanical and electrical parts.
- 3 additional years on aesthetic parts. This is in addition to the standard 2-year warranty included with the purchase of a new J&H exhaust system.
2. Purchasing the Extended Warranty
- The extended warranty must be purchased through official J&H dealers at the time the exhaust system is ordered. The extended warranty cannot be purchased at a later stage, only at the moment of purchase of the J&H exhaust system
3. Exhaust-Specific Warranty
- The extended warranty is linked to a specific exhaust system, motorcycle, and registered owner using unique order details.
- The warranty cannot be transferred to another exhaust system.
- If the exhaust is sold separately (without the motorcycle), the warranty becomes void.
- If the exhaust remains on the original motorcycle and is sold as a complete unit, the extended warranty is transferable to the new owner.
4. Conditions for Valid Warranty Coverage
The extended warranty applies only if the following conditions are met:
- The motorcycle engine functions in its original, untuned state.
- The exhaust system is only used on motorcycles for which it is approved, as specified in the J&H configurator.
- The system remains unmodified (e.g., no welding. except on catalytic converters; original electronics without interference).
- It is used for its intended purpose and cleaned/maintained according to the official user manual.
- Installation is performed by an official J&H dealer, following the installation manual.
- The warranty on the surface finish of the exhaust body expires if additional items are attached to it.
5. Exclusions – When the Warranty Does Not Apply
The extended warranty does not apply in the following situations:
- Failure to meet the above conditions.
- Overheating due to improper use, engine tuning, or lack of engine maintenance.
- Damage beyond the control of J&H.
- Electrical failures due to improper installation or interference from motorcycle accessories.
- Damage from incorrect installation of shields or header sets.
- Abuse, misuse, improper storage, or use in racing or any type of competition.
